The Xbox One Backwards Compatibility is a godsend to gamers who want to play their old games on a new console. This allows gamers to play Xbox 360 games using an Xbox One.

More and more games are getting released with each passing year. Now there are so many new kinds of games to choose from. Plus, they all come with different kinds of themes, gameplay and difficulties. However, there are some who still want to play older titles.

Typically, new consoles will not be able to cater to older games. One, the game developers and studios make new games to earn money. Two, new consoles get released to make the electronics company money. Therefore gamers will have to spend to get compatible games.

For The Benefit Of All

Something called backwards compatibility is the remedy to gamers’ woes. Specifically because it allows older games to be played on the newer generation consoles. For many, this is practically a godsend feature, as their old games will not go to waste.

According to Gamespot, the Xbox One Backwards compatibility was introduced on November 2015. There are currently more than 300 Xbox 360 games that can be played on Xbox One. The confirmed games aren’t complete, as Microsoft has reportedly promised more on the way.

Games such as Aegis Wing, Age Of Booty, Arkanoid Live, Assassin’s Creed, AstroPop, Banjo Tooie, Bioshock, Blood Knights, Clannad, Condemned, Dark Souls, Doom, Fable II, Fallout 3, Golden Axe, Halo Wars, Kameo, Limo, and Mass Effect are a few of the many games available. The newest additions to the list include Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, Beat’n Groovy, Dragon Age: Origins, Ghostbusters, Megaman 9 & 10, Scrap Metal, and Strania. These games were added just this month.

How It Works

To further details how it works, Major Nelson explains that the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility game is available at no additional cost. No doubt players will be able to keep their Xbox 360 games saves, achievements, game add-ons and Gamerscore. Furthermore, with the new console, advanced features can be tapped into. Windows 10 streaming, Game DVR, and screenshots will be possible.

What rounds out the experience is that those on the newer console can play multiplayer with any console. Instead, this means that owners of the older consoles can play with newer console owners without buying a new product.
