Xbox gamers are waiting for the Xbox Games with Gold March 2017 lineup. Reports on Sunday suggested that the free games list will be unveiled anytime this week. While waiting for the March 2017 list, fans can still enjoy the games that were made available for free in February.

The Xbox Games with Gold February 2017 lineup was revealed exactly a week before January ended. There were no leaks over the past several days, making gamers clueless on what to expect next month. But based on last month’s revelation, the long wait could be over soon.

Xbox Games with Gold March 2017 Announcement Set This Week?

According to Express UK, Xbox executive Larry Hyrb might announce the new lineup on Friday. The projected revelation date should be taken with a grain of salt, though. There is a chance Xbox might wait until the final days of the month to make fans more excited about what they will offer next month.

But while waiting for the new lineup, gamers still have several days to enjoy the Xbox Games with Gold February 2017 lineup. The Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be available until February. On the other hand, Project Cars Digital Edition will be free until March 15.

Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Update Looks Promising

Meanwhile, Spencer gave fans something to be excited about next week. While it is not about the awaited Xbox Games with Gold March 2017 lineup, it could be considered an exciting update for fans. Spencer revealed that the new games that will be added to the Xbox One backwards compatibility program are good.

Spencer confirmed on Twitter that there will be new Xbox 360 games that will become playable on the Xbox One. The Xbox exec did not give specific details. However, he reiterated once again that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is not included in the upcoming update. “I did see next week’s list, looks good. No BO2 before I get bombarded with that,” he said.

Gamers have been waiting for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 to become playable on the Xbox One for a long time. It is currently the most requested Xbox One backwards compatibility title. Spencer previously said that they do not have full control on when BO2 will become playable on the latest-generation console.

Hitman: Absolution became backwards compatible last week. Earlier this month, gamers finally got the chance to play Grand Theft Auto 4 on Xbox One. Spencer said that releasing games like GTA 4 is a proof that they are committed to improving the backwards compatibility program continuously.
