The upcoming Wonder Woman movie 2017 may have movie legend Arnold Schwarzenegger added into the cast. For years he has dominated films with his strong character roles. His addition to the cast will be able to add more punch in the upcoming DC Comics, fans believe.

Coming up with a blockbuster film is no easy task. Especially when there is already a legion of fans awaiting the film’s release in theater. As if it was not enough pressure, there is already a lot of original material for the film to get possibly based on.

When Gal Gadot Wonder Woman made her first appearance in the Batman VS Superman film, she was an instant hit. Not only was she glorious with her armor and magic lasso in hand. She instantly became the poster girl for girl power in a film dominated by male heroes and villains.

A Familiar Face for Wonder Woman Movie 2017

The attention is on the first female superhero to make a standalone film. On the other hand, there are also reports that a familiar DC villain will be making his return. According to Flickering Myth, Schwarzenegger may be taking on the role of the villain named Ares. Ares is a super villain based on the god of war in Green Mythology. In the Wonder Woman comic he is usually depicted as a red-eyed warrior clad in Greek hoplite black and indigo armor.

However, there are also rumors that Schwarzenegger will be reprising his role as Mr. Freeze. No doubt, those who have watched the 1997 Batman & Robin film will recall his performance. Mr. Freeze is another super villain from the DC universe who needs to wear a cryogenic suit to survive.

The actor has not confirmed his participation in the film, but Batman News has spotted some clues that may confirm it. There are a few fans who noticed Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins and DC Films head Geoff Johns have started following Schwarzenegger on Twitter. Based on this, fans have their fingers crossed that indeed a familiar villain will be returning to the DC comics franchise.
