Fans just cannot wait to see what will happen in the upcoming Winds Of Winter book by George RR Martin. The Game Of Thrones television series is a phenomenal success and audiences just cannot get enough of it. Martin gave an update on his highly anticipated book on Sunday.

Since its debut on air, fans have grown more and more passionate about the series in its entirety. The show is already on its seventh season and is one of the most anticipated television series to date. However, other fans are more interested in the newest addition in the series. Fans who are waiting for Winds of Winter will have to wait for a while but will have other books from Martin and some authors to read.

A New Book

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Martin just announced that he has written more about the world of Westeros and the struggle for power. While Winds Of Winter remains a mystery, another book titled Book Of Swords will be released. This particular book was not written by Martin himself. In fact, it is a collection of 15 short stories set within the GOT fictional universe.

He only wrote one out of the fifteen stories. There are a number of other featured authors he collaborated with on the book. These include Matthew Hughes, Ken Liu, Ellen Kushner, K.J. Parker, and Scott Lynch. Danial Abraham, Robin Hobb, Garth Nix, C.J. Cherryh, Cecelia Holland, Peter S. Beagle, and Elizabeth Bear also wrote their respective stories.

The Book Of Swords is currently available for pre-order and will be released in October 2017. The Winds Of Winter, on the other hand, has few chapters up on Martin’s blog. The book will hopefully be released later this year.

Winter Is Here

In other news, the much-anticipated Game Of Thrones season 7 is already in its last month of production. The show will be wrapping up in Iceland and Belfast and then will head into editing, Den Of Geek noted. The producers had no choice but to move the air date since they were timing the filming with the winter season. Some speculated that the show will make its television return this summer. Unfortunately, HBO has not confirmed a release date for the the seventh season of the series.
