Westworld season 2 won’t be released for a while, but fans are already waiting for its return.

Only a handful of television series make a phenomenal impact worldwide. There are tons of new shows that get released on different networks around the globe each year. However, there are a chosen few that make the top spot.

Westworld just ended their first season and fans are now clamoring for Westworld Season 2. The good news is that Netflix has already confirmed that they will be working on the sequel next year. Now people are comparing the success of the series to the likes of Game Of Thrones.

The Westworld series is a remake based on the 1973 film of the same name. It stars Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright, James Marsden, and so many more. Despite the different era and themes of the two series, many have pointed out how both GOT and Westworld mirror one another.

Too Many Similarities

Both shows have vast worlds that have pasts full of violent moments that are happening once again in the present. Despite getting over them before, for some reason history is repeating itself.

There is also the rise of a female protagonist. GOT has Khaleesi, played by Emilia Clarke, and Westworld has Dolores, played by Evan Rachel Wood, and Maeve, played by Thandie Newton. All of them woke up to make their own choices in life, and they also signaled the start of revolutions.

The Hollywood Reporter noted that both series also had fall of a hero. While this is something viewers don’t want to see, it is needed to fuel an interesting story. GOT had the Lord Of Winterfell’s beheading, and Westworld had William.

William did not die, but after losing Dolores, he turned into the Man in Black.

Last is the death of a major character. Ned Stark’s death was already written in the books, so GOT fans are preparing themselves for the worst already. Westworld does not have a book, but fans are anticipating that perhaps Robert Ford, played by Anthony Hopkins, is on the chopping block. Just like GOT, Westworld fans have their fingers crossed that no more characters get killed off.

According to Metro UK, actor Luke Hemsworth shared that it won’t be out until 2018. The main reason why they are taking so long is because the writers want to do things right. Hemsworth stated that they want to go into production with a clear plan.

Although fans are patiently waiting to see Westworld Season 2, many others have their fingers crossed that there will be more seasons.
