Thor: Ragnarok has an invaluable set of cast of members, most especially with the main actors. Tom Hiddleston, 36, has caught many eyes for his seamless portrayal of the villainous brother of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor. However, nothing is permanent since the actor confirmed that sometime in the future, a new actor must take place the iconic role of Loki.
Thor: Ragnarok will have new actor for Loki in the future
Hiddleston already played the character of Loki in three Marvel movies. Loki was a part of Thor (2011), The Avengers (2013) and Thor: The Dark World (2013). His role helped him to earn a spot in the hearts of fans. Hiddleston established himself as the face of Marvel’s mischievous god.
In the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, the actor will once again reprise his role. Unfortunately, Hiddleston is aware that his role will end when the time comes. In an interview with USA Today, he revealed that a new actor might play the role of Loki in the future. He stated that it is impossible for him to play the role forever.
The actor stated that his character is immortal who is in contrast with him who is ‘deeply mortal.’ Hiddleston stated, “Regeneration, at some point, will be required, I’m not quite sure when.” Eventually, there will be a conclusion on Loki’s character or there will be a replacement for a new Loki. The reality saddens the fans but Hiddleston is getting older since he just turned 36 last month. As of the moment, the actor is not sure of the time when he has to leave the role.
Instead of focusing on his impending departure, Hiddleston teased the fans about the great storyline within Ragnarok. He hinted at the connection between Loki and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). Loki looks down on Doctor Strange and does not view him as equal to him. On the other hand, Loki sees Hela (Cate Blanchett) in a different light. The two could have been friends but circumstances changed it.
The actor did not divulge any spoilers. Fans can turn to the last scenes of Thor: The Dark World in order to have a hint of the events for Ragnarok. In the end, no one in Asgard knew that Loki dispatched his father from the throne. He disguised himself as Odin. At that time, Thor returned to Earth to help the Avengers in fighting Ultron. Hiddleston hinted that at the beginning of Ragnarok, Thor had a couple of questions while Loki will provide the answers. Loki is struggling to hold on to the throne in Asgard and threats from all areas will arise. For now, fans can enjoy Hiddleston’s portrayal of Loki as long as it lasts.
