The Vampire Diaries Series finale is just around the corner and fans are already hesitant to let the show go. Speculations and theories are trying to savor every moment the beloved characters have left. Plus, the return of Elena, played by Nina Dobrev, will definitely add more excitement in the last two episodes.
The show has been around for eight seasons and there were a lot of things that happened then. Not only have the characters drastically grown over the years, but also so did the danger surrounding them. However, with the end in sight, fans are sure that the writers will be going all out.
Elena Wakes Up on Vampire Diaries Series Finale: Real Or Not Real?
The Delena (Damon-Elena) reunion is something people want to see. Elena is now fully conscious and back in the Salvatore mansion. The teaser for the episode shows Damon’s soul mate awake and out of the coffin. He gives her a long-awaited embrace and, based on Elena’s expression, she is still in love with Damon.
However, fans can not shake off their suspicions that, with Nina back in the series, Katherin Pierce could as well be back too. In fact, some are speculating that they may have switched at the very last minute. Even The Vampire Diaries Co-creator Kevin Williamson noted that the last episode is an “epic” one. It had been their mantra to create “epic” episodes since day one and they will be doing so until the end. This also sparks up the worries that another beloved character will die when the show ends.
A Final Death Imminent on Vampire Diaries Series Finale
The are already some scenarios that fans are looking at about who could possible die in the finale. First is Bonnie as their lives are tied together and, as long as she was alive, Elena would remain asleep. This is the most obvious choice as she lost the love of her life Enzo, played by Michael Malarkey.
The other options are Stefan, played by Paul Wesley, where his death will make up for all his misdeeds. His brother Damon is another tragic possibility. While it may be a major plot twist, this seems highly unlikely as it comes of as a major bummer for the finale. Lastly, there is the human Matt Donovan, played by Zach Roerig. He died at one point in the series and was resurrected, perhaps a heroic death to save the town from the Devil is his last mission.
The Vampire Diaries will air its second to the last episode on March 3, Friday from 8 to 9pm. The following week, the series finale “I Was Feeling Epic” will air on March 10. Fans will be treated to a retrospective episode “The Vampire Diaries: Forever Yours” from 8 to 9pm.
