The Vampire Diaries series finale is just around the corner and fans are already curious about the ending. For years the show has brought supernatural conflicts of the life threatening kind to television. While it did start during the time when vampires were more popular, its popularity continued the series until the present time.
It has finally come to the end and fans of the show are both excited and sad that there will no longer be The Vampire Diaries episodes. The good news is that they will be satisfied as Nina Dobrev, who plays Elena Gilbert, will be returning to the series.
The Vampire Diaries Series Finale: The Return Of Elena
Everyone is anticipating the return of Elena, who will be reunited with her soulmate Damon, played by Ian Somerholder, after being in a death like slumber. A new sneak peak revealed the Salvatore brothers finding Elena’s empty casket. Stefan says Bonnie’s, played by Kat Graham, heart stopped and that she also saw Elena. This is when Dobrev steps out from the room’s shadows to reveal herself and she says “Damon?”
While this may be the reunion the whole fandom has been waiting for, some are speculating it is too good to be true. There are rumors that she is not actually Elena but Katherine in disguise. If this was true, it would not be the first time that it happened.
A Satisfying End for the The Vampire Diaries Fans
Somerholder assured long time viewers that they will leave satisfied. He said this as his stint on Lost left a lot of people disappointed when the finale aired. While he did have some doubts in the beginning of The Vampire Diaries, he insisted that the finale will deliver on everything.
Creator Julie Plec noted that there would be a lot of things that will come full circle. For one the relationship of the Salvatore brothers, since they have had a number of issues they need closure on. Another is the link between Bonnie and Elena. She noted that fans should always be worried about her because the finale is unpredictable.
It is so unpredictable that they were not planning on who to kill off in the finale. She noted that two weeks ago someone else was dying, and after a last minute change it felt right. The choice was the obvious road they needed to go, and the production is happy with it.
The end has comes for the popular supernatural television series. Fans can see their beloved characters on the Vampire Diaries finale on The CW at 8pm ET/PT. No doubt its will be full of twists, reunions, and even heartbreak.
