Supergirl season 2 already teased that evil will be getting stronger as mother and daughter go into an alliance. For the longest time, Kara tried her best to clear her close friend’s name and completely refuses to admit she is guilty. However, the reality is clear and there is no doubt that Lena, played by Katie McGrath, may be guilty.
Being a superhero is hard work as apart from keeping a normal life, there are a lot of bad guys determined to sow chaos in the city. Kara, played by Melissa Benoist, struggled with this despite her innate goodness. Of course, it gets harder to protect the innocent people when one’s friend turns out to be the bad guy.
Friend or Foe
According to Comic Book, things won’t be getting any easier for Kara, as her close friend Lena Luthor gets arrested. Lena gets blamed for the escape of Metallo, played by Frederick Schmidt. He also freed Lillian Luthor, played by Brenda Strong, which is probably the reason why the authorities believe Lena is guilty.
There is a lot of evidence that points to Lena as the one behind the police break outs. However, Kara believes that L-Corp’s CEO is not guilty. Even The Guardian, played by Mehcad Brooks, tried to change her mind by pointing out that Lena is still related to Lex Luthor no matter what. According to International Business Times, James is disappointed that Kara would rather believe a Luthor than his role as Guardian.
Blood Thicker Than Water
The trailer for the next Supergirl season 2 episode showed what could be Lena’s official induction into the evil side. While she may not be responsible for the escape of Metallo and Lillian, fans are already speculating that she may be against Kara. Lena’s mother brought Lena to a room that houses Lex’s warsuit and other weapons. She stated that everything needed to rid the planet of Krypotnians is in that room.
Those who are familiar with the story of Superman will know that the Luthors were once friends. Unfortunately, they are always bad news and make things difficult for Superman, also known as Clark Kent, to save the world.
The upcoming episodes will be difficult for Kara, as she may lose her close friend. Could Lena’s loyalty to her family surpass her desire to do good in the world? Those who are interested in seeing how the episode plays out can watch Supergirl season 2 episode 12 “Luthors” on Monday, Feb 13 at 8 p.m. ET on CW.
