A website has put out a Star Wars Episode VIII theory claiming that Rey and Kylo Ren might be relatives. The internet is fraught with speculation about Rey’s origin and her link to Kylo Ren, but fortunately, Disney was able to confirm the theory about their connection. Fans would be glad to know that the Star Wars databank offered validity to these theories. The official site tries to prove that the rumors may hold true some truth after all.

‘Star Wars Episode VIII’ Theory: Do Rey and Kylo Ren share familial connection?

Speculations suggested that Kylo and Rey might have a familial connection. The update will no doubt fuel rumors of a relation between the two, considering that Kylo Ren asked “What girl?” when he discovered Finn’s escape from Jakku with BB-8.

For fans who are following rumors and spoilers on the The Last Jedi, the two might have an apparent blood connection. The likeliest possibility is that they are cousins. Fans know that Kylo’s previous name is Ben Solo, son of Han Solo. There are speculations that Rey must have been fathered by Luke Skywalker. Rey’s father could possibly be Ben Kenobi. However, there are speculations that Rey could also be the daughter of Luke.

Aside from Kylo and Rey’s connection, YouTuber Zeroh leaked a teaser trailer for The Last Jedi.
The clip showed the trailer opening with Finn awakening from his nightmare. The following scene revealed Poe Dameron hurrying to the door of an airship before the place begins to shake.

Star Wars Episode VIII Theory: Will Rey fall to the dark side?

Aside from a familial connection, there is a theory stating that the connection might have nothing to do with family. A fan theory concerns Kylo Ren and Rey switching places in the upcoming film. Kylo may be redeemed and reunited with his family, while Rey falls to the dark side.

Rian Johnson is set to direct Star Wars Episode 8, which will feature Mark Hamill, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis and the late Carrie Fisher. Lucasfilm will release Star Wars: The Last Jedi on December 15, 2017.
