Lucasfilm has left fans awestruck with tons of speculations, as the studio revealed the title of Star Wars Episode 8. It has been confirmed that the movie will be called Star Wars: The Last Jedi. More details about the upcoming film were also revealed.

The official Star Wars website also shared the poster of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The photo has been created with the iconic “in a galaxy far far away” template featuring the logo in outer space. The color of the text gave fans something to think about.

Unlike The Force Awakens, the logo of The Last Jedi is red. Gamespot has revealed that a similar red version was used for 1983’s Revenge of the Jedi. It is possible that the new logo is teasing a darker plot for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. John Boyega previously told Variety that Episode 8 will be darker and bigger.

Fans have been posting various speculations on Star Wars subreddit page. Some users have also suggested that Luke Skywalker could finally meet his end in the movie. But these are mere baseless fan theories.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi was written and directed by Rian Johnson.  J.J. Abrams is also an executive producer for the movie. Earlier last month, the director also revealed to USA Today that he is aware of the title of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will hit theaters on December 15, 2017. Filming of scenes involving Carrie Fisher as Leia was completed before her unfortunate demise. It has been revealed that Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker and Daisy Ridley’s Rey will have a stronger bond in the upcoming movie.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi takes place after the events of The Force Awakens. Episode 7 ended as Rey finally met Luke Skywalker.  Recently, Star Wars: Rogue One was also a success among fans and critics. The movie recently broke the $1 billion mark at Box Office worldwide, Box Office Mojo revealed.
