Those still on the fence about playing The Sims 4 may need to reconsider, because Maxis has recently announced the welcome addition of toddlers. Best part is, players can download the update for free.

The Sims 4 Welcomes Babies

It can be remembered that fans were pissed off upon hearing how the fourth game in the franchise would not include babies. The presence of these small, lovable mini-Sims have been vital to the series. It was not a surprise that everyone clamored for the feature since day one. Now, it looks like players still on The Sims 3 have good reason to switch.

The game’s senior producer Lyndsay Pearson wrote the announcement on January 12. According to the post, the team spent years talking about the recent update. It was only a matter of finding the right time to release the toddler feature.

“Toddlers is something that has been in the works for a while, and I am really proud of the work that the team has put in to creating these adorable little Sims,” Pearson wrote. “I think you’re really going to love how interactive they are, so get ready for a lot of cute, heart-warming moments.”

What To Do With Sims 4 Babies

There are plenty of things the adult Sims can do to bond with toddlers. These include using flash cards and teaching them how to talk or use the bathroom. The Sims can even read their babies to sleep and carry them around the house.

“We’ve added over a hundred new animations, dozens of new interactions, and great new suites of outfits and objects,” Pearson added. “But most importantly, we’ve bridged a really meaningful part of your Sims’ lives.”

People reacted positively to the news. Now, according to them, all they need is the much-awaited pet feature.

Recently, Maxis also released the Sims 4 Game Pack. Its highlight allows players to interact and “get it on” with vampires. Aside from creating supernatural appearances via Create-a-Sim, it also includes a new location called the Forgotten Hollow. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but it will be available on January 24.
