The Plastic Surgery Group has predicted that nipple size adjustment would be all the rage in 2017. While women obsessed over the overall size and shape of their breasts till now, minute details like the size of nipples will now become the focal interest. Smaller nipples will be considered far more attractive than larger ones.
Nipples – The Smaller, The Better?
Getting implants to enhance one’s breasts or going through breast reduction surgery are a common phenomenon among women. The ideal body image that women in the 21st century cater to influenced the plastic surgery trends of 2017. Hence, while young teenagers opt to enlarge their breasts instead of waiting to become adults, older women go under the knife to plump up their sagging breasts to look younger.
“We have seen a 30% rise in women requesting a smaller nipple size in the last year,” said consultant plastic surgeon, Mo Akhavani, the Independent reported. In a study conducted by the group, 131 women were asked to rate the attractiveness of different nipple sizes. It was found that nipples which took up only 25%-30% of breast-space were rated the highest. On the other hand, the lowest rated nipples were the ones occupying more than 50% of a breast area.
Shrinking Breasts, Expanding Buttocks
Women leaning towards smaller nipples could be a follow-up trend to women choosing small-sized breast implants nowadays. Previously the implants ranged between 350-400cc. But now an average implant has been downsized to 250-300cc.
Celebrities influenced most of the body and fashion trends. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez championed heavy breasts a few years ago. However, thanks to the ‘wellness’ movement spearheaded by Taylor Swift and Ellie Goulding, lean and athletic body types are the way to go for women, today.
“The new body look now is the ultra-toned, shredded athletic type – just look at Instagram and see how many thousands of women add photos of them doing weights. Smaller nipples and implants compliment this new trend of a lean body,” mentioned Akhavani, the Daily Mail reported. However, that does not mean that buttock size is following a similar route. Among the cosmetic trends of 2017 predicted, is buttock augmentation that gained a footing since 2016.
