Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales trailer has just been released. Within just one day of being available to the public, it had now racked up a total of 2 million views. There is also a new poster that was released ahead of the much awaited trailer.

The Pirates franchise has been around for years and it still delivers amazing adventures. The story has now developed and moved on from the storyline where Kiera Knightley and Orlando Bloom were involved. This time around, the fifth installment is focused on Jack Sparrow and the trident of Posiedon. He must find it in before his old rival Armando Salazar, played by Javier Bardem, kills every pirate at sea.

The latest news on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is that a new poster was just revealed to the public. The poster features Johnny Depp in his iconic Jack Sparrow regalia. As well as Captain Barbossa and Jack the Monkey and Bardem’s character turning into ash. On the bottom right are two of the newest additions in the franchise.

Brenton Thwaites (Oculus, & The Giver) plays Henry, a young man who tries to reconnect with his father. First he has to break a curse that is preventing him from actually finding his father. This story is very similar to Will Turner’s, Orlando Bloom, story in the later films.

On the other hand, there is Kaya Scodelario (Skins & The Maze Runner) who plays Carina Smyth. Many have speculated her to be a “carbon copy” of Elizabeth Swann, played by Kiera Knightley. However, she explained that she’s an astronomer and an academic who is fighting for her right to study. She goes on the journey to find the trident of Posiedon to prove herself.

Prior to this official release there were some posters leaked several weeks ago, as noted by Bleeding Cool. These were confirmed to be fanmade poster. The newest poster does not give any clue on the plot.

Fans have their fingers crossed this will turn out to be a success. While the franchise is popular, its been experiencing a downwards trend in quality. Many are hoping this new addition will revive the vigor the franchise had in its early days.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will be released on May 26, 2017. It will feature Orlando Bloom, Kevin R.McNally, Stephen Graham, Geoffrey Rush, Golshifteh Farahani and Javier Bardem. Johnny Depp returns in his iconic role along with rising stars Kaya Scodelario and Brenton Thwaites.
