Pirates of the Carribean Dead Men Tell No Tales Spoilers, Plot, Cast and Things to Know


The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise made name in the past years. The franchise reached its 13th year in August 2016. Fans will now face the release of Pirates of the Caribbean 5. The film is titled Dead Men Tell No Tales. In the U.K., it is known as Salazar’s Revenge. Disney scheduled the film’s release on May 26, 2017.

Six years has passed since the last installment, On Stranger Tides, was released. The reason for the long wait could possibly the Lone Ranger. Disney took a big gamble on Depp’s ability to head another action franchise with another kooky performance. Unfortunately, it backfired so tough that the studio rolled back to their commitment on the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

After the Lone Ranger flopped in 2013, it took numerous months before a fifth Pirates was approved. As a result, the release date was delayed due to some script and budget problems. The film’s long-time writers, Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio are not returning to the franchise, though.

Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales Plot

Captain Jack Sparrow is pursued by an old nemesis, Capitán Salazar. Salazar, along with his crew of ghost pirates, got away from the Devil’s Triangle. Salazar and his ghostly buddies are determined to eliminate every pirate at sea. Jack will look for the Trident of Poseidon, an effective artifact that will give its holder overall control over the seas. Every character in the film is searching for the Trident of Poseidon. Jack needs to get his hands on it in order to protect himself and beat Salazar.

The first trailer of the film featured Captain Salazar confronting Henry. Salazar asked Henry if he can deliver his ominous threat to Jack Sparrow. The trailer seemed to signify that the film will have a darker atmosphere but will feature its own antics. Meanwhile, The Wrap mentioned that the latest trailer revealed an upcoming huge battle in the middle of the ocean.

Pirates of the Caribbean 5 Cast

Geoffrey Rush’s villainous character, Captain Barbossa will be back in the film. There is no definite plot line on how Barbossa will fit in with Salazar (Javier Bardem) being the antagonist. Slashfilm reported that Orlando Bloom’s Will Turner will also be back, following his absence in the fourth installment, On Stranger Tides.

In addition, there will be a new major player by the name of Henry Turner (Brenton Thwaites). Henry is Will Turner’s son who is on a mission to reconnect with his cursed dad. Will’s old flame Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) will not be re-joining him. The film will feature various female leads in the mix, played by Skins actress Kaya Scodelario. Scodelario will be playing astronomer Carina Smyth. There are speculations that she could be Salazar or Barbossa’s daughter but neither was confirmed.
