The Oxygen OS update is coming to One Plus 3 and One Plus 3 T units. One Plus will update several of their devices to OxygenOS 4.0.1. The upgrade will follow the company’s update with Android Nougat to their devices.
The new build will feature the updated access point name settings for selected carriers. The APN was the root cause of some mobile data issues, which the company aimed to fix. There will also be a proximity sensor bug fix, which happened during calls. The new patch will also increase system stability for its devices.
One Plus will release the Oxygen OS update phase-by-phase
The first roll out will only update a small percentage of OnePlus devices during the first day. Afterwards, broader distribution will roll out in the next few days. The update will not focus on overhauling the features.
The 4.0.1 upgrade will fix minor bugs of the phone. Another prevalent problem is the bug stops users from downloading apps. User will be elated to know that the patch will also fix the Google Play Store download bug.
OnePlus gave out some instructions on how to fix the bugs for other OnePlus devices. The first step is to follow Google’s troubleshooting steps. Afterwards, users can try the Battery Saving mode then reset the Play Store preferences. OnePlus also said to uninstall Truecaller or AVG Antivirus for those users who have them
Aside from the other fixes, users can expect improvements to the design of the notifications and settings menu. According to Droid Life, there will be a new feature where the user can now reply to messages directly from the notifications box. The update also has a Multi-Window View and a Status Bar Icon for options. The update will provide new customization options for a seamless experience.
According to Phone Arena, several OnePlus 3 users complained about battery draining after the Android Nougat update. The units’ owners hope that the OxygenOS updates will fix this issue as well. The Oxygen OS update will only be available to the two aforementioned units.
Other OnePlus devices can wait for the next phase of release. OnePlus owners can go to the phone’s settings to check if their devices are eligible for the update. To check if the device is eligible, users can go to the option ‘About phone’ then click the ‘Software updates’.
