NCIS Los Angeles season 8 has seen a lot of twist and turns in both the real life and in the story. This year the cast lost one of its cast members, Miguel Ferrer. While Ferrer’s character was one of the fan favorites, the other characters are getting some good progress on their stories as well.
Most of the time the series follows a mission or an important case that needs to be solved. What usually takes a back seat are their personal lives. In the upcoming episode titled “Queen Pin,” the fans finally see some progress in Anna and Callen’s relationship.
Their romance was given a sideline over the past few weeks because of the mole investigation. However, their love story may be getting a bigger spotlight this time around. The spotlight however will not last very long thanks to Hetty.
NCIS Los Angeles Season 8 Episode 17 Synopsis
The official NCIS Los Angeles synopsis reads that Hetty interrupts Callen and Anna’s romantic night for a mission. The two were assigned to a prisoner escort mission. Also, Sam assumes a former alias to take down an elusive drug lord in an undercover mission.
There is no doubt that the episode will be exciting thanks to the small dose of romance and the action on Sam’s side. Sam going undercover is usually under the guise of something more serious. But, many viewers enjoy seeing the action and obstacles he runs into on the mission.
NCIS Los Angeles Season 8 Episode 16
In other news, Kensi and Deeks are back in action as they try to take down two aging con artists at a nursing home. Deeks was able to use his grifter’s skills from being an undercover cop to turn the tables when O’Boyle, played by Martin Mull, cheated at cards. Ginger, played by Debra Jo Rupp, on the other hand was flirting with Deeks.
This wasn’t as intense as the previous episodes, but it did give viewers a break from the drama. Kensi just woke up from her coma, and just got cleared for active duty. So this is the perfect slow pace her character needs before jumping into life threatening missions again.
Also, the upcoming episode will feature a tribute to the late Miguel Ferrer. The actor died from throat cancer last January 19, 2017. His character, Granger, was sent off to a final mission and was never heard from again. This seemed a fitting end to his character on NCIS Los Angeles, as he was one of the more popular and endearing characters on the show. Fans can watch the upcoming episode on CBs on Sundays at 8/7c.
