The Phoenix Suns continue to struggle and the obvious recourse suggested is to trade up some of their assets. Among the players suggested in recent NBA rumors include Tyson Chandler and P.J. Tucker. But what about Eric Bledsoe?
As most know, the Suns carry an overcrowded backcourt that also includes Devin Booker and Brandon Knight. Booker is seen as the future guard of the franchise. This means either Bledsoe or Booker could be used to reel in new talent to fill up other positions.
Will The Suns Trade Their Best Player?
Looking at his numbers, there is no question that Eric Bledsoe is one of the best players of Suns coach Earl Watson right now, Hoops Habit reported. He is averaging 20.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.4 assists. With those numbers in consideration, most mean nothing if the Suns are at the bottom part of the NBA Western Conference standings (8-19).
Despite the efforts of Bledsoe, the Suns could be better off investing for the future. And their vets could be the key to getting young and future stars to technically rebuild the Phoenix franchise.
Bledsoe Best Served To Teams In Need
Looking at the list of teams who could be interested in Bledsoe, it may all boil down to need. The Philadelphia 76ers could be at the forefront as they try to unload some of their big men for a tested guard.
The logic alone makes sense. Nerlens Noel has been looking for a new home, while Jahlil Okafor could be traded for the right price. The Sacramento Kings or the Washington Wizards could also be possible, possibly seeing a reunion of Kentucky players, Arizona Sports reported.
Unless the Suns are able to prove they can win with Bledsoe’s efforts, it may be best to deal off assets and rebuild as early as now. So the question now is, which team has the players the Suns could use for the future?
