Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD Slingshot is a web series that may not be a mandatory watch. However, not watching it might mean missing out on an interesting chunk of a story.
It will not pick up where the midseason finale of Agent of SHIELD left off. It is rather a short story set during the summer hiatus of the show.
Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD Slingshot: Mini-Episodes On Elena Rodriguez
The six mini-episodes of the web series will mainly focus on Elena Rodriguez, also known as Yo-Yo, played by Natalia Cordova-Buckley. The mini-series is set at the time when Daisy was still on the run and Elena was about to become an official team member and sign the Sokovia Accords.
The Screener TV reported that Elena did face some tough times at first in learning and getting acquainted with the rules. She also tried to figure out how she can be a part of the team while still sticking to her honour of justice.
“I think when it’s time to be part of the team, there’s no one more involved [than Elena],” Cordova-Buckley said. “But I don’t think she wants her individuality to belong to SHIELD. I think she’s willing to use her powers to help humanity — and therefore SHIELD — do good, but I don’t think she’s willing to give up her freedom for an institution.”
Missing Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD Slingshot episodes won’t hamper the understanding of the current season of the show. However, it would sure feel like missing out on few good deleted scenes. It includes scenes on how the Daisy and Elena team up happened in the first place.
Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD Slingshot: Powers Of Slingshot
The second half of the season returns on January 10, 2017 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. It will see the organisation finally begin to form the Secret Warriors. They are a group of inhuman operatives with the purpose to save the old from more enhanced enemies. Elena, a.k.a Slingshot, is a part of the team.
In a promo for the upcoming episodes, Elena can be seen speeding off after drawing a gun on Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie. Her super speed power comes with a limitation. It requires her to return to the point where she started, the Cinemablend reported.
Before the preview was released, Marvel posted a first-look of Slingshot and described her as a “tough, street-wise Colombian woman.”
