“Logan” is set to have its premiere at the Berlin Film Festival next month. Hugh Jackman will have his last appearance (or not) as the X-Men superhero we all love.
The actor had a short cameo in the recent X-Men installment. That, however, may be one of the highlights of the film. We have finally seen snippets of his history and how he ended up as Wolverine.

In “Logan,” Jackman plays an aged version of his character, a clawed mutant. BBC noted that this would be the Australian actor’s last portrayal of the role.
“This will be my last one,” Jackman told the Dr. Oz show, as per Comic Book. “It just felt like it was the right time to do it. And let’s be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I’m so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it.”
The synopsis goes like this: “In 2024, mutant births are severely in decline, and people aren’t sure why. A government-type operation is turning mutant children into killing machines. From this, Logan emerges as a mentor to a mutant girl, who has two claws instead of his three.”
Although the film is originally set to come out in March, it will be unleashed this February for the Berlin Festival. Meanwhile, though, Deadline believes Logan has a lot of competition in Berlin after 12 titles were added.
Some of these include Danny Boyle’s “T2: Trainspotting,” the sequel to the cult favorite that reunites Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle, Jonny Lee Miller and Ewen Bremner. It would also have Gurinder Chadha’s “Viceroy’s House” starring Hugh Bonneville and Gillian Anderson.
This would mark the ninth time Jackman played the character on the big screen. James Mangold is directed from a script by him, Michael Green and Scott Frank. Simon Kinberg, Hutch Parker and Lauren Shuler Donner produced the film. Sir Patrick Stewart will also appear. Other cast members include Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant and Dafne Keen.
“Logan” is slated for a March 3 release. Moreover, it is a highly-anticipated R-rated picture for Fox. Watch the trailer below:
