The smartphone competition gets fiercer as the LG G6 specs reveal new technology. The phone market has grown exponentially since its inception over a decade ago. The idea of a touchscreen device was foreign to many during the time of mini-keyboards. Now, it has become nothing short of a necessity in phones.

One thing for certain is that companies will try to outdo one another in the market. The LG G6 specs, for example, are reportedly changing the game thanks to new design and tech.

New Screen And Resolution

According to The Verge, the upcoming smartphone was announced to have a 5.7-inch LCD display with a twist. The display has the unusual aspect ratio of 18:9 and a QHD+ resolution.

The new aspect ratio is odd but is perfect fit for most widescreen content available for mobile devices today. Even the option for LG going taller in terms of design could mean there is a second screen implementation. However, this hasn’t been confirmed yet.

On the other hand, the QHD+ adds more pixels to the familiar QHD format. Now, the display panel stretches out to 2880 x 1440. The power consumption for the screen was also improved further by 30 percent. Plus, it will have better outdoor visibility as well.

What techies are noticing is the trimming of the bezels. This makes the phone feel smaller than it actually is. LG Display reported that the new screen panels require much smaller bezels. To be exact, they will be 10 percent smaller on the sides and 20 percent smaller at the top.

LG G6 Specs: Other Things To Note

The LG G6, according to GSM Arena, will come with the following specs: dual-SIM, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, Micro SD slot, Qualcomm Snapdragon 830, 16MP Primary camera, 12MP secondary camera and Android 7.0 Nougat. It also has fast battery charging and a fingerprint scanner.

Those interested in buying the phone may have to wait a couple more months. It is reported that the phone will be unveiled on February 26 before the Mobile World Expo in Barcelona. The possible release date for the phone will be on March 10 in Korea. It is possible that the international release date won’t be far behind and may happen within the same month.
