The Kingdom Hearts 3 release date will be revealed this year and fans just can’t wait. A long time ago, when video games first started, it was a common thing for fans to hope for cross over games. The idea that one character enters different realms and interacts with different characters is nothing short of surreal.

According to Gematsu, director Tetsuya Nomura gave an update on their Disney crossover game Kingdom Hearts 3 and on their Final Fantasy 7 remake. These two massive video game productions already have high expectations attached to them.

The Long Wait

While there are millions of fans waiting for its release, both games haven’t showed much. Nomura noted that the production is still going on and both titles have a long way to go. This means that the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date might not even be in 2017.

He further explained that he can’t make a sweeping statement just yet, as the development process is different from the past. There are some worlds that haven’t been touched yet and production is still underway. The worlds are so early in development that they are unfit to be shown to the public.

The company did release some new gameplay footage last year, so it is safe to say the company is actively working on it. Unfortunately, the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date won’t be anytime soon.

Other Priorities

According to Game Rant, one of the reasons why the game is staking so long is because the companies Square Enix and Sony were busy. The whole of last year was spent finalizing the game and marketing Final Fantasy 15. The decision to focus on this game was made, as it has already been a decade into development.

Disney and Square Enix, the makers of the Final Fantasy, made history by working together on a video game. No one expected the great response from gamers, and Kingdom Hearts became a huge hit. So much so that the companies released a Kingdom Hearts 2 and six games after that.

The RPG games focused on its protagonist Sora and his journey. His mission is to prevent the Heartless creatures from invading his world.

He travels to another world and meets King Mickey. Mickey gives him a Keyblade and has his two emissaries, Donald Duck and Goofy, help Sora on his mission to save the world.
