In June 2016, Warner Bros. brought in selected journalist for a Justice League set visit. It eventually allowed visitors to share details such as Batman’s transportation vehicle Flying Fox, the confirmation of Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, and more. Lately, though, recent development has revealed that there are more details still untold by journalists.
Forbes contributor Mark Hughes was one of the few journalists brought in for the set visit. During his time on set, he was able to look at an Atlantis concept art. However, he refrained himself from explaining in detail until now.
Atlantis World In Justice League Compared To Avatar And Game of Thrones
Earlier on Wednesday, Hughes announced “some updates” for DCU fans on Twitter. He revealed that he has “clarifications and confirmations on what’s going on with few projects.” Fortunately, a fan asked him to provide info on the Atlantis concept art.
“I can answer that right now—imagine Game of Thrones under water & with a hint of Avatar,” Hughes said. “That’s the best I can describe it.” The tweet is embedded below.
Atlantis Is An Underwater World
For those unaware, Atlantis is a fictional underwater world in the DC Universe. Aquaman, crowned as king of the underwater world in DC comics, has the royal birthright over the kingdom. The species known as Atlanteans dwell in this world; characters like Mera, played by Amber Heard, and Vulko, played by Dafoe, are citizens of Atlantis.
Aquaman plays a prominent role in the fight against alien forces in Justice League. Furthermore, an important element called “Motherbox” is in the Atlantean’s possessions. The character will thus be required to connect the bridge between surface dwellers known as Mankind and the Atlanteans.
Justice League releases on November 17. Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman will join forces to defeat a being known as Steppenwolf (played by Ciaran Hinds). To retaliate, the villain will bring forth his horde of Parademons, alien beings shown in the dream sequence scene in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Batman will be wearing a new tactical suit in his fight against the Parademons. A behind-the-scenes clip from Justice League’s London set gave fans a glimpse at the new costume. Recently, illustrator Patricio Ruales shared an in-development preview of the tactical suit. But for reasons unknown, he has now deleted the photo from Twitter. Luckily, it has already been retweeted by other users. The tweet is also embedded below.
