The dark and gritty adaptation of Batman v Superman has made fans wary of Justice League. Some are misled to think that the 2016 DC movie’s tone was a choice made by director Zack Snyder. However, it has been revealed that the dark storyline was necessary to instill hope in the upcoming 2017 DC superhero team-up.
Recently, Heroic Hollywood was able to interact with Justice League second unit director Damon Caro and Visual Effects Supervisor Bryan Hirota. Fans must note that both crew members also worked on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
While Caro and Hirota weren’t able to share specific details on Justice League, they were able to share some hints on what people are “most excited” to see. Furthermore, they gave their own point of view on the lightened tone of Justice League.
Justice League Compared To Return of the Jedi
“I’m excited for people to see all of these characters together,” said Caro, via Heroic Hollywood. “Finally getting to see the whole team together. We were on set for the shots when they first had them all together and it was incredible.”
Caro compared the superhero team’s “uniting” scene to the “trinity shot” from BvS, right “when they face off against Doomsday.” The second unit director concluded that he “can’t be any more descriptive,” while Hirota remained on the safe side by saying, “I don’t even know what this movie about (laughs).”
Trailer #2 Hinted For An Upcoming Release
Discussing the lightened tone in the upcoming DC team-up movie, Caro said, “Justice League was always the rebirth of hope and the rise.” He addressed the fact that the audience believe a lighter tone was chosen due to the backlash of Batman v Superman. But Caro explained, “It’s a bit like Star Wars. Empire Strikes Back? Dark movie! But then Return of the Jedi is the rise and the rebuilding of hope.”
In other news, Wonder Woman herself has a response to fans hoping for the release of Justice League trailer #2. Recently, Gal Gadot assured on her official Facebook page that the new promo video will be released “soon!” Fans can check out the screenshot of her reply over at Batman-News.
Justice League releases on November 17 this year. Steppenwolf has been confirmed to be the villain in the movie. On the other hand, there has been no words on the appearance of another villain, Darkseid.
