The upcoming Avatar scripts have already been written by director James Cameron. Just when people thought the story was over, there were reports that the 2009 blockbuster hit Avatar would be getting more movies. Although there were any details revealed regarding the project, many fans are hopeful it isn’t a hoax.
It’s been seven years since the Avatar franchise broke box office records. Since its success in the box office, and potential for more films, the news on the sequels was sparse. Recently, Titanic director James Cameron announced that he’s finally finished making scripts.
All Scripts Ready
While the news of a finished script is already enough to get fans jumping up and down. Cameron further noted that he finished the scripts for a number of sequels leading up to Avatar 5. In fact, he equally focused on Avatar 2, 3, 4, and 5 to make sure that they were not rushed or developed unequally. He was under a lot of pressure to replicate the magic of the first film and was relieved when the scripts were completed.
According to Independent, the production is already underway. The actors Zoe Saldana, who plays Neytiri, and Sam Worthingon, who plays Jake, will start filming in August. They’ll be starting off with motion capture in a sound stage like they did last time. With seven years to prepare, everything has been designed and prepared ahead of time.
At present there has been a lot of progress in editing and filmmaking. Technological advancements will even make a 3D film possible without the need for 3D glasses. This is one feature Cameron hopes a future Avatar film will have.
Fingers are crossed that the follow-up films are just as mind blowing as the very first one given the projected release date. According to News.Com.Au, Cameron has scheduled Avatar 2 for a 2018 release date. The sequels following this will be on 2020, 2022, and 2023.
