A new trailer for the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was released which contains a whole lot of Easter eggs in it. Chris Pratt took out a full trailer on the Jimmy Kimmel Live. The trailer seemed to reveal some important information about the movie. It also included a scene with the main antagonist, as well as Star-Lord’s father.
The trailer gave fans the first look at Kurt Russell’s character. Russell will play the human embodiment of Ego the living planet. Aside from the revelation of the identity of Star Lord’s father, fans noticed other Easter eggs from the action-packed trailer.
In the trailer’s first few seconds, fans can spot Chris Patt’s character holding an old gadget. He is holding it while the team is waiting to fight the monstrous Abilisk. Kids from the 70s, 80s and even during the 90s might recognize the gadget. Some people speculated that Rocket Raccoon might have created and designed the tool which could be efficient in saving the galaxy. Other people have a different theory on the gadget.
Presumably, the tool on Star-Lord’s hand might simply be an archaic video game tool. It might mean that he is not afraid or does not take the danger seriously and have found the time to play. It could also be a comic relief before the impending battle. Nonetheless, Star-Lord looked seemingly unfazed of the events around him.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer hinted at an important plot point
Another Easter egg focuses on Yondu, which seemed to hint at an integral plot point in the movie. The trailers indicated that Yondu will have a bigger role in Vol. 2. Reportedly, Yondu will be a team member of the Guardians. However, before Yondu joins the team, there might be some battle between him and Star-Lord. Perhaps, he and Star-Lord will go head-to-head in the sequel before they settle their difference for the ultimate good.
In the previews teasers for Vol. 2., fans were surprised that Yondu seemed to be a part of the Guardians. During the first installment, the blue-faced ranger discovered that Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord betrayed him. Yondu was guarding an orb with the Infinity Stone. Since he was in dire need, Star-Lord swapped the important orb for an empty one.
The trailer hinted a major clue on how the reunion of the Guardians and Yondu will be like. In one of the scenes, Rocket Raccoon raised his hands in the air while standing over a seemingly dead body. Fans can see Yondu’s arrow beside Rocket Raccoon’s head, signifying the presence of the former. It seems like a usurpation of power will occur within the Ravagers based on what the images on the trailer.
Another thrilling clip is about Nebula’s missing hand. It is to be remembered than one of her hand was cut off during the first movie. There is no clarification on her affiliation with the Guardians for the second installment.
