Comic Book reported that Gunn wrote in a new Facebook post that the score is “the finest, most emotional work Tyler has ever done.” Bates was also the composer for Guardians of the Galaxy. The score received acclaimed reviews from fans and few nominations as well.

Bates is not new to composing tracks for comic book movies. Before Guardians of the Galaxy, the composers worked with Zack Snyder in two DC movies. Bates was the composer for Watchman and 300.
