Funko released its action figures for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 earlier this month. Fans were initially excited to take a look at characters like Baby Groot, Mantis and others. However, the photos did not reveal Ego among the Funko toys.
Finally, the toy company has released Kurt Russell’s action figure. Based on a photo shared by Cosmic Book News, Funko has released both Pop! Figure and Dorbz. Fans can take a look at it here or in the image below.
The action figure gives us the first look at Kurt Russell as Ego the living planet. But it only shows fans the character in his human form. The action figure confirmed Ego’s costume as well. Earlier at SDCC, the human form costume of Ego was put on display. A video of the suit also surfaced on the internet.

A report on Tuesday revealed the relationship of Ego and Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Furthermore, it also confirmed that it would be emotional. Fans can read the article here.
Long-time Marvel fans are excited to see Star-Lord and Ego team up in the movie as father and son. However, some of the new fans have been confused. Fortunately, Director James Gunn assured fans saying, “Yeah, his dad is a planet. Sort of. It will be explained in the film.”
Here is the official plot description: “Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. Ego The Living Planet Is Star-Lord’s Father
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is slated to hit theaters on April 25. The main cast from the movie are also set to appear in Russo Brothers’ Avengers: Infinity War.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is also introducing a new character who will join the team. Pom Klementieff plays Mantis, the new member. The character was revealed to have powers that can read mind in the official teaser trailer.
