Doug Weight was named as the interim Head Coach of the New York Islanders. General Manager Garth Snow made the announcement on Tuesday. The decision was made after NYI fired Jack Capuano. Weight formerly served as the Assistant General Manager of the team.
The Islanders was having a hard time last season that meant that Capuano had to go. The team’s management did not divulge the reason why they relieved Capuano from the position. Despite getting fired, Capuano thanked the franchise for all the years without a hint of bitterness on his end.
