Dance Moms was one of the biggest reality shows in the past few years. It is known for training young dancers to go on winning big competitions. The show’s most notable cast member was Maddie Ziegler.
Clashing With The Law
However, the brain behind “Dance Moms,” Abby Lee Miller, has something more serious on her hands. According to People, in June 2016, she pleaded guilty to bankruptcy fraud after being accused of attempting to hide income from the show. She also pleaded guilty for failing to report thousands of Australian currency brought into the United States.
Moving on to 2017, Radar Online reported that Abby might be sentenced to 30 months in prison for what she did. Now she’s trying to get less time in prison by finding loopholes.
She claims that she did not file for bankruptcy protection for mortgage delinquencies. Instead, she filed to stay the pending tax sale of the property her studio was located at. This was in response to her bankruptcy fraud charge.
In addition to that, she denied the calculation of cash sales of merchandise during the Australian trip. She also denies the use of minor children to carry money into the United States as well.
Apart from her latest scandal, her former pupil Maddie will be publishing a tell-all on her experience in Spring. She will be answering fans’ questions and will explain the things she learned in her book. This could prove to be another headache for Miller, as more of her alleged crimes may be revealed.
Thanks to the show, Maddie has catapulted to fame after dancing in Sia’s “Chandelier” music video. Since then, the singer has been featuring the young dancer in many performances and videos. Maddie also slammed her former dance teacher and the show in the past as well.
