Rupert Wyatt is back to direct a new Sci-Fi movie titled Captive State. Surprisingly, just a glimpse at the plot suggests that it could be better than his previous “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.”
Since Wyatt successfully rebooted “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” and led it to a box office success, fans have been waiting for the director to take on another movie in the Sci-Fi genre. Finally, he gave us his reply with Captive State.
An official press release was sent out for the movie and revealed that Lionsgate has international rights over several Participant Media’s upcoming releases (production Co. of Captive State). Furthermore, it also contained the new detailed synopsis of Captive State as reported by Collider. Fans can check it out below.
“Captive State is a sci-fi thriller set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after it has been occupied by an extraterrestrial force. Captive State uses a grounded sci-fi setting to shine light on the modern surveillance state and the threats to civil liberties and the role of dissent within an authoritarian society.”
Captive State To Reveal A World Invaded By Aliens
The Synopsis reveals that Captive State is an Alien invasion movie. Moreover, it hints a world that has already been taken over by alien species.
John Goodman has been confirmed to play a role in Captive State. Earlier, the actor is not new to Sci-Fi, as he played one of the main roles in 10 Cloverfield Lane.
John Goodman has also worked alongside Rupert Wyatt in previous Hollywood movies. In 2014, he played as Frank in “The Gambler” directed by Wyatt. Currently, fans are expecting to see him on screen as Bill Randa in “Kong: Skull Island.” The movie is slated to release on March 10.
