BMW released a modest mid-cycle update to one of their series models. The BMW 4 received a stunning update in terms of design and features. The update will apply on the convertible, M4, Gran Coupe and coupe style variants.
The BMW 4 Series initially released the 428i and 435i variant in 2013. The company upped the ante by upgrading to the 430i and 440i in 2016. BMW is now rolling out its mid-cycle update for the stylish 4 Series variants.
The company made the 4 Series’ suspension sportier and better without sacrificing the driver and passenger’s comfort. All 4 Series models will be more stable to drive in a straight line. The update will also provide communicative steering for the driver.
BMW 4 Series 2018 Engine Features
According to Car Advice, BMW did not seem to make any mechanical modifications to the 4 Series. The engines and horsepower of some 4 Series variants were still the same. For instance, BMW did not change the mechanical functions of the entry-level 430i.
The 430i is equipped with 248hp from a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine. The 440i Gran Coupe will have 320 hp from its 3.0-liter, twin scroll turbocharger. The rear-wheel drive and the xDrive all-wheel drive system will be offered but with an extra cost.
BMW 4 Series 2018 made a minor upgrade in its exterior design
BMW made some minor visual modifications to the models. The 4 Series front design received a new standard bi-LED headlights and LED fog lights. The other models were also accented with an elegant strip of chrome trim. The rear end had a revised LED tail lamp, along with a newly designed bumper.
The Net Car Show stated that there are some interior tweaks to the 4 series’ variants as well. The update brings a new sport steering wheel. There’s also a gloss black center console and three new upholstery colors. These changes are difficult to notice at the very least but BMW made sure to update every inch of the 4 Series.
The 4 Series’ technology received most of the updates
The technology update received more attention. The BMW 4 Series will feature the new iDrive infotainment system. The system can be manipulated using a physical controller knob located on the center console. There is also a display that utilizes a screen to provide different gauge appearances based on the current mode.
