Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman, made a strong appearance in Captain America: Civil War. The movie was quick at handing over the alpha role as “King of Wakanda” to the young superhero as well. But the character’s origin story and his existence in MCU was left untouched in the Russo Brothers movie.

Fortunately, Marvel green-lit a standalone movie for Chadwick Boseman. The studio assured fans that the origin of Black Panther, the world of Wakanda and his people will be explained in MCU. Moreover, fans were excited to hear Kevin Feige say, “T’Challa’s story is very important to us as it links to the next Avengers films, which is why we brought it forward.”

It was quite evident that T’Challa, as the king of Wakanda, would be important in Avengers: Infinity War. However, MCU seems to be going all the way back to the character’s life as a college student to establish his origin.

T’Challa Will Be Shown As College Kid In Flashback

A report by East Bay Times has revealed that Marvel will film a scene of T’Challa as a student studying in Saint Mary’s College High School. The location is situation in Berkeley, CA. The newspaper initially revealed that a 1990s-era AC Transit Bus was approved to be used in Black Panther by the Transit Agency. The report confirms that the scene will appear as a flashback, when T’Challa uses the bus for his daily commute.

Fans must note that the Transit Agency won’t be transporting a 1990 AC Transit Bus to the filming location. The agency only provided authorization for Marvel Studios to use the AC Transit logo. The studio plans on renting a vintage bus from a “specific era” and paint it accordingly.

Black Panther Standalone Film To Use 1990 AC Transit Bus

It looks like Black Panther is certainly one of the most anticipated MCU movies in the upcoming line-up. The tone of the standalone film has already been hinted to be different than previous MCU films. Chadwick Boseman revealed that the film will be dark and grittier.

Black Panther is slated to release in 2018. Michael B. Jordan is confirmed to play as the antagonist in the movie. Furthermore, appearances of characters like the Winter Soldier is still a possibility.
