However, she lost the Best Music Film (Lemonade) to the Ron Howard-directed The Beatles: Eight Days A Week The Touring Years. She also lost the most prestigious title given during the 59th Annual Grammy Awards

The 35-year-old singer won the Best Music Video award for Formation prior to the live program even started. The Academy announced the news on Twitter. This year, Beyoncé was up for nine Grammy nominations. She was one of the leading artists for the 2017 awards show after garnering the most number of nominations.

Beyoncé received 62 Grammy nominations throughout her career. She had over 21 wins under her belt. She is one of the most nominated female artist of all time. In addition, she is the second most awarded female artist as well. Alison Krauss, a solo artist and producer, won 27 Grammy awards and takes the top spot as the most awarded female artist.

Beyonce can be considered as the Queen of the Grammy’s due to her consistent victory. Looking back at her reign, Queen B won the most prestigious awards that the Academy has to offer. In 2001, Destiny’s Child earned their first Grammy nomination. Beyonce’s first award was for the Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group with the song Say My Name. Moreover, Destiny’s Child won the Best R&B Song that year.

In 2004, Beyonce won her first solo award. Dangerously in Love was hailed as the Best Contemporary R&B Album. Beyonce, together with Luther Vandross, won the Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group for the song The Closer I Get to You. In the same year, she also won the Best R&B Song and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration with Jay Z for the song Crazy in Love.

Beyonce Album of The Year: Queen B will make history

Beyonce’s success continued every year. Since 2000, Queen B has always been nominated or awarded by the Academy. The only year where she did not have any Grammy nomination was in 2003. After that, her winning streak continued. Fans were not surprise that she took over nine Grammy nominations in 2017. Moreover, fans will not be surprised with any staggering victory that the artist would receive from the entire award-giving body. Industry experts believe that Beyonce could have made history if she wins the Album of the Year award.

Nonetheless, she is not the only one in the Knowles family celebrating for a win. Her younger sister, Solange, won the Grammy for Best R&B Performance for her tune Cranes in the Sky at the pre-show ceremony. With the recent success of Beyonce and Solange, it is safe to say that talent runs through the Knowles’ blood line.
