A South Florida woman was allegedly kicked off a Spirit Airlines flight on Sunday because her cleavage was too exposed. The airlines denied the incident but a Facebook post from another passenger supported what the woman claimed. The flight was bound to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International airport from New Orleans. The identity of the woman was not disclosed.
Spirit Airlines Officer Deny Claims
The 21-year-old woman said that it felt worse because she was kicked off the flight for how she dressed and not because she can not pay her fare. She was extremely embarrassed. However, the airline said that that the woman was not removed from the flight because of her wardrobe. It reasoned that it was because of her behavior. Airline staff believed she was too drunk and was disturbing other passengers. “Nobody was taken off a plane because of cleavage,” Paul Berry, Spirit spokesman, reported. “People are taken off planes because of their behavior,” he added.
The spokesman upheld that the flight attendant involved in the incident was addressing the woman’s reported intoxication. He also explained that the flight attendant made the decision to get her off the flight after several warnings made. While the 21-year-old was leaving, the flight attendant said that she might want to cover up. Berry stated that the comment about her wardrobe was more of a personal advice to her, Local10 reported. The woman started sobbing uncontrollably and more passengers reportedly complained.
Other passengers supported the woman’s story
Cathy Supp, another passenger aboard the flight, pitied the crying lady. She decided to stand up from her seat and offered her a hanky. However, the flight attendant grew angrier. In the end, Supp was kicked off the plane too.
Supp took to Facebook to share what really happened. She said that several flight attendants approached the 21-year-old. All these attendants told her that her bosom was too exposed. “She tried to pull her top up further to cover more,” Supp wrote. “Each time another flight attendant came with the same issue, telling her in loud and rude tones that she’ll have leave the plane if she can’t get (her bosom) covered.” Below is Supp’s whole version of the story.
