Samsung owners can now use the latest Android OS system. The Android Nougat update is already available in numerous device, but some major smartphones are still stuck with Android Marshmallow.

Buying the right smartphone depends on what the consumer is looking for. While many go for its main features like cameras and battery power, others look at how updates it is. In fact, getting the most updated phone in terms of OS will have benefit in the long run.

This is good news for Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users as Samsung will officially begin rolling out the Android Nougat update. According to Sam Mobile, Regular users will get the update, but an early bird advantage will be give to those who have the beta version. The update is reportedly 215 MB in size in beta.

It sounds small, but those running on the beta do not have to download too many things to update. Apart from that, it is not clear when the actual full update will be available. So far, the update will be released on January 17.

What To Look Forward To

According to Phone Arena, there is reportedly 20 new features and visuals that will be introduced with the Nougat software. Some of these include multi-window mode, notification shade background changes, and maybe different iconography.

There will also be the ability to change the screen resolution, which will save a lot of battery life. In addition to that, the updated messaging application will allow users to classify contacts, threats and texts.

To round out the list, there are new UX and various performance modes and efficient space for installation of downloaded apps. There is also an improved system upgrade and app installation. Plus, the notification and quick settings button features have been improved as well.

Many are already getting the OTA update notification, but those who do not see it do not have to worry. Other devices may start seeing the notifications in the coming week and, most probably, in multiple regions.

In other news, the Blue Coral variant of the Samsung Galaxy edge was officially launched in Europe. Those who are interested in getting the variant in other parts of the world can already get it. The blue version was already released in India, Canada, the United States and South Korea.
