The most updated Android OS is what the latest smartphones already have. Now the other phones in the market will be getting it as well.

The more updated the product, the more desirable it is. In the world of smartphones, the most updated system usually gets more benefits and features. Thus, the smartphone market heavily uses this to sell more units.

Not all phones manage to get the updated OS. However, the latest news is that the Android Nougat update for a couple of phones will be ready soon. To be specific, the Moto Z Play and the Sony Xperia Z5 will be getting the update.

The news does not come from rumors and speculations. In fact, Motorola’s branch in Germany revealed the news on their Twitter account.

According to Phandroid, the Moto Z Play should be getting its OS update by March 4. The other devices in the same Moto Z line have had it since last year. At least, the update is happening and is no longer a “maybe.”

In other news, the smartphone will be getting something else before the OS update. A security patch is said to arrive on January 21. Perhaps this is to prepare the smartphone for the changes the new OS will bring.

The Sony Xperia Z5, on the other hand, has also received Android Nougat update certification. The update will be available in the next few weeks, Xperia Blog reported. Smartphone users may be able to receive the update within Q1 or Q2 of 2017.

However, it should be noted that while the Xperia Z5, Z4 and Z3+ would be getting the update. The certification by PTCRB does not extend to older Sony devices powered by the Snapdragon 800 or 801 processors. The main reason being that Qualcomm will not release graphics drivers for them.

More Brands To Join In

Sony and Motorola are not the only brands that are upgrading their smartphones to the Android Nougat. Samsung has also joined the bandwagon and will be also upgrading their OS as well. Many brands are trying to keep up with the latest Android update. So it is highly likely that the budget brands may follow suit.
