American Horror Story season 7 will be making its return and it plans to make a horror out of the recently concluded U.S. presidential elections. There were a lot of different themes that made the series famous so anything related to the recent world events will make it more relevant. If the upcoming season is anything like the previous ones, then fans should definitely be prepared for the unexpected.

A New Theme for American Horror Story Season 7

Co-Creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk confirmed on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that, indeed, the presidential election will be the theme of season 7. The elections happened recently and there had been so many controversies surrounded it. The creators thought it would be a good way to start the new series.

Murphy shared that American Horror Story season 7 will start shooting in June. There may even be an appearance by President Donald Trump himself. However, nothing is set in stone yet with regard to this. For sure the details on the seventh season will be kept to a minimal. However, FX President John Landgraf teased there would be a different marketing hook. Season six had more than 20 different cryptic promos and offered no information at all. To use the same marketing ploy would be predictable and fans want something different.

Familiar Faces will Make a Come Back for American Horror Story Season 7

The Hollywood Reporter had some good news though. Some familiar faces are set to return to the series: Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. In the “Roanoke” episode, Paulson and Peters were a married couple who fell in love on set. This delighted the viewers of the long time franchise. They both played a number of characters in the series before. Unfortunately, they were never linked up romantically until recently.

This pair up did not just satisfy what fans have been waiting for. It also revealed that the anthology of the show exists within the same universe. Plus, all the seasons are actually connected. In fact, loyal viewers will be able to see how interconnected the season are in the upcoming seventh and eight seasons. American Horror Story was renewed up to Season 9 in January.

A premiere date for American Horror Story season 7 has not been determined yet. The show is still in its pre-production phase and will officially start filming mid-2017. It is highly likely that the new season will be out by the holidays or by 2018.
